The beast that lies within us can be domesticated, let to run free or abused to keep it in its place. Why is it that only Vampires cannto see that they are animals? Humans certainly are! They fuck and kill and murder and wage wars, hunt, feed themselves and act on purely base desires and wants. As do we. We're predators, to call ourselves anything else is a fallacy. Yes, we can appreciate art, we can think, we are conscious, but to deny our nature will only cause the beast to spring from us more freely when it does get loose. Pushing your beast right down is not the way.
Letting your beast run free is the equivalent of being rabid, directionless thought like a shark or pirahna's feedign frenzy. You will lose all capacity for rational thought and like any rampant beast with no cunning will be rapidly put down.
Control your frenzy, channel it, use the energy in things that make you passionate, and if the time is appropriate, let it off its leash. Reward it when it does not come forth by letting it run wild when you need it. The beast is as much a part of us as our soul or our limbs. Deny your beast and you deny yourself.
